Hurrah for Our Class of 2030 Early Decision Quakers!
Today, we are delighted to welcome our newest members of Penn’s Class of 2030, who join a record number of QuestBridge matches admitted earlier this month. After carefully reviewing more than 7,800 applications, we are proud to extend an official Quaker welcome to our Early Decision admits.
These students are joining Penn from across the globe, representing over 60 countries, 49 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and our home here in Philadelphia. Each brings a unique perspective and set of experiences, and together they are already shaping the spirit of the Class of 2030.
As we read applications this year, we looked not only for academic excellence, but for students committed to contributing to a larger community. The students admitted through Early Decision demonstrated intellectual dedication, empathy, and genuine curiosity—qualities that reflect Penn’s values and our belief in learning from one another.
While we are still getting to know this class, a few themes are beginning to emerge. Members of the Class of 2030 have big ideas and the ambition to pursue them. They have genuine appreciation for others, from crossing guards and teachers to SEPTA conductors. Their interests range from Native leadership to beatboxing, and even Ben Franklin impersonation! Many have already shown a strong dedication to making a difference in their communities, particularly for those who are most vulnerable.
Penn was founded on the idea that education should be curiosity-driven and connected to the world beyond campus. We know our new Quakers will embody that spirit as they collaborate, challenge ideas, and support one another—inside and outside the classroom.
To the newest members of the Class of 2030: congratulations. The Penn community is ready to cheer you on, lift you up, and grow alongside you. We are grateful that you have chosen Penn, and we cannot wait to welcome you to campus.
Hurrah, hurrah, for our Early Decision Quakers!
