Invitations to join or apply to specific scholar programs are made at the time students are admitted.  Students can also apply directly to designated programs at the end of their freshman year.

Civic House

Civic House is Penn’s hub for civic engagement, centering community organizations and social justice education, promoting mutually beneficial collaborations between Penn and Philadelphia community nonprofit organizations. Through social justice education, trainings and workshops, Civic House prepares students for responsible community engagement and empowers them to become advocates for social change.

Earn Multiple Degrees

Supported by dedicated faculty advisors, students may pursue more than one Penn degree, still graduate in four years, and enjoy an active life beyond the classroom.

Civic Scholars

Penn's Civic Scholars program allows students who are leaders in the classroom the opportunity to engage with the City of Philadelphia and become leaders in the community they call home. Students who complete the four-year Civic Scholar experience earn a certification upon graduation and designation on their transcript.

Penn Consumer Assistance Support and Education (CASE)

Penn CASE is an award-winning community service student organization at the University of Pennsylvania that provides Consumer Assistance, Support & Education to Philadelphia residents and Penn students. Through communication, community outreach, and campus initiatives Penn CASE has helped over 5,000 Philadelphia residents.
