Super Bowl Sunday: From Huntsman to Center City
Anova | February 7, 2018

So I’ll be the first to admit, my favorite part of the super bowl is the food and the ads. Naturally, I was excited when my friend said he had already bought food and was having a showing party in Huntsman Hall. Soon after arriving at the GSR (group study room) I realized everyone in the building was pretty much watching the super bowl, each in a separate conference room.

By the time I came back to my apartment, people were screaming for joy in the streets and sprinting to Center City. For those of you unfamiliar with football, this is the first time the Eagles, Philadelphia’s team, have won the Super Bowl, so everyone was incredibly excited. Joining thousands of other Penn students, my friends and I headed over to Center City albeit after a more initial, low-key event. The streets were packed and people were living it up. Check out the nightlife in this video!

Center City Celebration

All in all, this was an incredible experience. To have the home team of your city win the Super Bowl especially as a college student is filled with camaraderie and excitement. I would definitely recommend students to take advantage of what’s going on in your city and join in with the celebrations the locals take part in. Go Eagles!
