So you just applied to Penn…
Zach | September 9, 2017

*The majority of this post will be addressed towards those who applied ED to Penn on Nov. 1. If that does not apply to you, that is absolutely okay! Just skip the ED chit-chat!*

First off, CONGRATS. Go you for getting everything together and submitted by the Early decision deadline. You just applied to college and you should feel happy/excited/elated/pumped!! Feel proud of all that you have accomplished up until this point. Go out and get your favorite kind of ice cream (mine is anything chocolate with more chocolate and yes, you guessed it, even more chocolate). You deserve it.

I am so excited that you love Penn. I hope you were able to visit campus and see the amazing community we have here. I hope that you were able to find and articulate what makes Penn special for you.

While we probably could go on for days (or even longer) about how much we love Penn, try and forget about us over here in University City. Keep working hard and enjoy your senior year. I know this is much easier said than done, but the year will be over before you know it and you should make the most of it!

To those who didn’t make the ED deadline, are applying regular decision, or are freshmen in high school already excited about what’s next, keep on keeping on. I didn’t apply to Penn early decision, but I am still here and loving it. The regular decision deadline is still weeks away. There are many different paths to Penn.

I know college applications are a source of stress for those in high school (myself included), but try to not let them take over your life. Thoughtfully create your list of schools, put your best foot forward on those apps, and then send them off. You are applying to college and well on your way to a new chapter in your life. Be excited!

Zach

Welcome to the world of Penn! I am in the College studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics with a concentration in Choice and Behavior. I came to Penn last year as a transfer student from a small liberal arts school up north and I have absolutely loved my time here. When I am not writing my stream of consciousness on this blog, I am working at the Admissions Visitor Center, volunteering with Penn Best Buddies, doing research on management and organizational behavior with a brilliant Penn professor, and thinking about the law with Phi Alpha Delta, Penn’s only pre-law professional fraternity. I love leisurely strolls on Locust, cold brew from Saxbys, and all the Magic Carpet cookies on this side of the Schuylkill! Tag along for what will undoubtedly be a fantastic ride!
